The Lung Center at Hillcrest Scans 500th Patient

The Lung Center at Hillcrest recently scanned its 500th patient!

This is huge news because according to The Advisory Board Company, a best practices firm that uses a combination of research, technology and consulting to improve the performance of health care organizations around the world, the average number of patients screened per year at a hospital program is 25.  The Lung Center at Hillcrest is operating at such a high level of efficiency that that it is screening at a rate of 10 times the national average.

Open since May 2014, The Lung Center at Hillcrest offers lung cancer screenings to those who might be at risk, including:

– current or former smokers,

– people age 55 to 80,

– and/or smokers with a smoking history of at least 30 pack-years (that is, one pack per day for 30 years, two packs per day for 15 years, etc.).

Oklahoma CyberKnife would like to congratulate The Lung Center at Hillcrest on achieving this milestone.  Thank you for making lung health a top priority in our community and helping our patients breathe a little easier.
