Resources Available Through the American Lung Association
As America’s oldest voluntary health organization, the American Lung Association (ALA) is dedicated to preventing lung disease and improving lung health through education, advocacy and research.
The ALA’s mission is “to save lives by improving lung health and preventing lung disease.” The organization works to combat tobacco use, improve air quality to prevent lung disease and provide aid to lung cancer patients and their families. The ALA also provides resources for education on lung disease and funding for lung cancer research.
The ALA encourages participation in local chapters through advocacy, donations, volunteering or participating in local events including walks and runs, support groups and advocacy opportunities to promote lung health.
